How to choose a method
All these methods don’t necessarily fit you or your lifestyle.Â
Whether you’re a guy or a girl, it’s very important to be in the know about contraception to make a wise choice that fits your personal needs.
For example, you must know how effective birth control methods are.Â
For girls, the choice also depends on your health. Certain health problems might prevent you from using certain methods.Â
Other considerations:Â
- The relationship with your boyfriend or girlfriend
- How stable is your relationship
- How often you have sex
- Your personality
- Cost
- Your capacity to keep up with a method (say, taking a pill every day)
- Your motivation to use a condom
